Let's get started with today’s exploratory exercise - a brain dump. In the Insight Inventory Workbook (link below) you’ll find instructions and step by step demos for what to do, plus some optional journal questions and a self assessment. When you are done you will have a picture of what you know, and what you need to figure out. We’ll spend the rest of the course filling in those missing pieces.
It is easy to get overwhelmed and to treat this process as an inventory of your entire art life. As you enter into the activity, pick one or two things you know you want to focus on in your series to anchor this process. Leave things blank, and I recommend you set a timer so you don't spend too much time on it. This is as much about uncovering what you needs answers for as it is about what you know you will focus on. |
